The next morning.

The sound of footsteps echoed outside the west wing of the Yu manor. In the red corridor leading to the other courtyard, three people slowly walked over.

The first two people walked side by side. One was the elderly Daoist with the lotus crown on his head and wearing a white Daoist robe, while the other was a woman with a sharp, heroic look in a pale yellow court dress.

Behind them, there was a girl dressed as a maidservant holding a three-layer food container that was made of red-lacquered fragrant wood.

The elderly Daoist walked with his hands clasped behind his back, his white eyebrows knitted together slightly and he looked unhappy. He looked straight ahead, but his mind was obviously elsewhere.

The woman in the court dress was around 17 to 18 years old. Although her body was not fully developed, she looked well-proportioned. Her dark hair was pulled up high, her facial features beautiful and heroic. Her eyes were as bright as the stars that left an indelible impression on others

In addition, there was some red powder applied to the woman’s face, giving her originally fair and flawless cheeks a faint red tinge to it, making her seem particularly delicate and moving.

“Perfected White Stone, I’m really sorry to disturb you.” The woman lowered her eyes as she spoke.

“It’s fine to just take a look, but I don’t understand why Seventh Miss wants me to treat a dumb mortal?” The elderly Daoist broke out of his thoughts, his face still expressionless.

“Perfected One, you don’t know yet, but yesterday, this person…”

The woman gave a faint smile and roughly told him how Liu Shi had stopped the horse and saved those people the day before.

The elderly Daoist rubbed his fingers together as he listened. When he heard how Liu Shi had stopped the runaway horse with just one hand, he raised his eyebrows slightly.

“Since he has helped Seventh Miss, then he is worthy of my attention.” The elderly Daoist loosened his thumb and finger that were rubbing together.

The woman smiled and bowed slightly.

The maidservant, however, was nervously carrying the food container and followed after them without making any noise.

In the west wing room, Liu Le’er, who had washed up and was already dressed, was talking to Liu Shi who was sitting on the edge of the bed when she suddenly heard knocks on the door.

“Sister Le’er, my Miss has brought the Immortal Master here to see you,” the maidservant called out in a low voice as she walked up to the door and knocked a few times, without waiting for the young lady’s instructions.

Liu Le’er stood up and was not in a rush to open the door. She asked in doubt, “Who is your Miss?”

“Sister Le’er, it’s me.”

Feeling that the voice from outside sounded slightly familiar, Liu Le’er blinked and looked a little confused.

After hesitating for a moment, she went forward and opened the door with a creak.

As soon as the door opened, she could smell a faint medicinal scent. She then saw three people standing outside the door.

Her gaze first swept over the elderly Daoist to confirm that the medicinal smell was coming from him, then she looked at the maidservant standing by the side and recognized Xiao Wu, the personal maidservant of that Seventh Young Master, Yu Qi, whom she had met yesterday.

When Liu Le’er’s gaze finally landed on the woman in the pale yellow court dress, who had a small smile on her face, she was first stunned and then her mouth hung wide open.

“You’re… Seventh Young Master!” cried out Liu Le’er as she covered her mouth.

“It’s me. Sister Le’er, you can call me Seventh Miss, or Sister Qi.” The woman looked at the girl’s surprised expression with a smile.

“No wonder. I felt that Young Master Qi was a little…” Liu Le’er laughed when she heard the words.

“A little what?” Yu Qi’s eyebrows lifted slightly.

“A little… different from a man.” Liu Le’er thought for a while before finding a tactful way of saying it.

“I can avoid many unnecessary troubles by walking outside dressed as a man. When you grow up in the next few years, you will undoubtedly understand.” The woman looked at Liu Le’er’s beautiful face and smiled.

When Liu Le’er heard this, she nodded without full comprehension and then let the three people come in.

“Sister Le’er, this is the Immortal Master I told you about, Perfected White Stone. Perfected One, this is Liu Le’er and the one sitting there is her brother, Liu Shi.” Seventh Miss moved her body to the side, making way for the elderly Daoist.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Liu Le’er had some fear in her heart and she quickly lowered her head, bowed and did not dare to meet the elderly Daoist’s eyes.

Liu Shi sat by the bed, looking blankly at the three people who had come in and did not even move.

Perfected White Stone glanced at Liu Le’er before his gaze moved to Liu Shi. He walked forward, then went around to the other side, looking carefully from top to bottom. Finally, he looked at Liu Shi’s eyes.

After a while, the elderly Daoist closed his eyes, he raised his hand and his fingers suddenly touched Liu Shi’s glabella.

“Ah…”

Le’er was shocked when she saw this and could not help exclaiming.

The fingers that the elderly Daoist stretched out, turned stiff and he glared at her unhappily.

“Sister Le’er, Immortal is checking your brother. You don’t have to make a fuss.” Seventh Miss pulled Liu Le’er hurriedly and then explained to her.

“I’m sorry, Immortal Master. I didn’t mean to…” Liu Le’er knew that she was wrong and quickly apologized.

When the elderly Daoist heard this, his expression relaxed slightly and he closed his eyes again, once again touching the spot between Liu Shi’s eyebrows.

Then, his fingers pointed forward and a blue light formed from in between Liu Shi’s eyebrows. A circle of ripples came from there as if a stone was skipping on water.

After a while, the elderly Daoist drew back his fingers and slowly opened his eyes.

“How is it? Can Brother Stone be cured?” Liu Le’er asked hurriedly.

Perfected White Stone looked sideways at her, saying nothing.

Yu Qi stepped forward to pull Liu Le’er’s hand and then patted the back of her hand, telling her not to be so anxious.

Liu Le’er shut her mouth and stopped asking, but her gaze was trained on Liu Shi.

As though he had felt Liu Le’er’s gaze, Liu Shi’s eyes moved to her. He swallowed the pastry in his mouth and smiled slightly.

After pondering for a moment, Perfected White Stone turned his hand over and an old bronze round mirror appeared in his hand.

“Go.”

He called softly and a blue light flashed past the round mirror, and it immediately floated up and flew to the top of Liu Shi’s head, stopping there.

Perfected White Stone chanted in a low voice and his fingers drew some shapes in the air, as if he were carving out some secret runes.

After a while, his fingers suddenly stopped and he pointed it at the round mirror.

The floating round mirror immediately started to shake violently. The originally uneven mirror became bright and clean under the nourishment of the blue light.

Liu Le’er stared nervously at the mirror and felt that there were some changes in the blue light, as if some blurred images were about to appear.

However, after waiting for a moment, the blue light on the mirror was still blurry and she could not see anything clearly.

At this time, Liu Shi appeared to dislike the round mirror over his head. Raising his hand, he swatted it away as if it were a mosquito. Although he did not touch that round mirror, it made the blue light on the mirror flicker as it became even more chaotic.

“Impossible, this is…”

When Perfected White Stone saw it, his expression changed and his sleeves flapped as he waved at the mirror. The round mirror immediately whirled back like a swallow returning to its nest and disappeared.

Liu Le’er grew concerned when she saw all this.

“Immortal has identified the problem. Is there a way to cure it?” Seventh Miss asked.

“It’s a fifty-fifty chance. It is not necessarily impossible, but…” Perfected White Stone’s expression turned cloudy and he looked a little hesitant.

“Please cure my brother, Immortal Master.” Liu Le’er was overjoyed and begged.

“If Immortal has a good prescription, please do cure Liu Shi. I will bear all the expenses.” Seventh Miss said generously.

When Liu Le’er heard this, she looked at Yu Qi with a touch of gratitude in her eyes.

“Since Seventh Miss has spoken, I will do my best. But I will speak frankly. His soul is in a sealed state for some reason and it’s very difficult to release it. Only by setting up a soul summoning array is there a chance of curing it. And only when I am alone with him in a quiet room can I do it with all my strength.” Perfected White Stone looked at the tall youth for some time before he said in a determined tone.

“Then when Immortal Master is doing the treatment, can I stay by the side?” Liu Le’er asked in a low voice after a moment of hesitation.

“What are you going to do staying by the side? You’ll just be in the way. Little girl, do you not believe me?” Perfected White Stone’s tone raised suddenly as he asked, slightly annoyed.

Liu Le’er’s heart clattered and she waved her hands quickly. “Of course not! I just want to be with my brother. I’ll stay by the side and I promise I won’t interfere.”

“Suit yourself. The soul summoning array is extraordinary and there are still some preparations to be made. I’ll head back first,” Perfected White Stone said faintly and then looked at Yu Qi.

“Thank you, Perfected One.” Seventh Miss bowed slightly.

Liu Le’er also quickly bowed to Perfected White Stone, but before she could straighten her body, the elderly Daoist had already left.

After Perfected White Stone left, the woman in the court dress did not stay for much longer. She comforted Liu Le’er and told her not to worry about Liu Shi’s illness too much before she left with Xiao Wu.
