A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality—Immortal World Arc - Chapter 47

In the middle of the night.

Han Li left the cave, a glow bursting out of his body before he locked onto a direction and flew off.

However, not too long after he started flying, he saw the sky above him darken and a blurry white giant palm appeared quietly before it descended upon him.

It hummed loudly and countless white fire lotuses surfaced out of nowhere like a goddess was throwing flowers over the sky. The lotuses turned nonstop and thousands of petals shot out as they instantly covered a radius of more than a thousand feet. Han Li could not entirely avoid it.

With a freezing breeze blowing in the area, the temperature dropped drastically. The surface of the nearby mountain was even covered with a thin layer of frost.

Han Li froze slightly, before he lifted his hand and punched out into the air and immediately an invisible giant force surged out.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Almost all of the white fire lotuses dissipated like they were foam and turned into bright white lights before they disappeared.

The glow around the giant white palm also started to tremble crazily from this force. The void around it even distorted, before a loud ringing exploded.

The owner of the giant palm seemed to be unguarded as they shrank back with panic before they disappeared.

Following that, the void not too far away pulsated and a figure, who was covered in a white glow so bright their face could not be seen, appeared. They were holding a blue jade ruler that was completely crystal clear. The surface of the blue jade ruler was carved with rings and rings of runes and emblems similar to a thread.

The moment the figure appeared, one of their hands turned and the jade ruler was thrown upwards by him.

The ruler twirled down, before it grew into the size of a thousand feet. The runes on its surface glowed together, exuding a dazzling blue glow.

Suddenly, the white figure waved a hand.

A loud crackle sounded!

With a loud sound from the giant ruler, it suddenly clamped down where Han Li was with a loud thunder-like sound.

Han Li’s eyes sparkled a little, before he reached his hand out and grabbed the air.

He did not grab anything, but a giant force that even made the air congregate together surged towards the giant ruler like a strong wave, causing the glow on the surface of the giant ruler to shake tremendously. It continued to turn in the air, but was unable to land.

Right at that moment, the runes on the surface of the giant ruler grew and the image of a monster with an ox head and a dragon body surfaced from it. The monster opened its mouth and let out an ox-like weird growl.

The giant blue ruler trembled once more as it continued to push down.

Han Li narrowed his eyes and activated the Minor Big Dipper Star Nascent Skill within him. Instantly, five blue lights at his abdomen sparkled and it looked vaguely like the seven stars of the Big Dipper. However, only five of the stars were dazzling brightly, while the other two remained dim.

He reached his fingers out, before he clasped them together and the void near him started to distort and tremble crazily!

The dragon monster on the surface of the giant blue ruler cried out, before it dissipated with a loud pang.

“Daoist Han, I am Sima Jingming. Please show some mercy!” Seeing this, the white figure hurriedly called out.

The moment he finished speaking, the white glow around him dimmed, revealing a purple-robed man whose hair was completely white.

Han Li’s eyes sparkled, his fist that was about to clench completely froze.

Sima Jingming hurriedly made a hand seal and the giant blue ruler shrunk by at least a hundred times. In a flash, it returned back to his hand.

It was then that he finally let out a sigh of relief.

Earlier, he got a clear feeling of how scary the other man’s hold was through this magic treasure. If he hesitated for even another second, the treasure would either be ruined or be damaged terribly.

Although he did not use all of his strength, it was clear that the other party had shown some mercy from how calm and at ease he looked.

“Why did Daoist Sima do this?” Han Li asked with an indifferent expression, his hands behind his back.

“I hope Daoist Han does not hold this against me. I merely wanted to test and see Daoist’s true strength. After all, your promise to our Ancestor is extremely important to our Sect. I have to see what our Sect is getting in exchange for millions of years of our savings.” Sima Jingming said with a smile, as he kept the jade ruler.

“What does Daoist think now?” Han Li raised an eyebrow slightly, showing a calm smirk.

“Daoist Han’s strength is way above my expectations. And I’m really amazed at how Daoist is able to cultivate Minor Big Dipper Star Nascent Skill till this level in such a short time. There were people in our Sect that cultivated this skill before as well, but it’s a pity that they only touched the surface of it.” Sima Jingming sighed softly before he praised Han Li from the bottom of his heart.

“You’re flattering me, Daoist Sima.” Han Li said with a small smile.

After a pause, he continued, “As for the missing scroll your Sect’s Sutra Pavilion is still missing, I can draw another copy after I go and settle something.”

“Daoist Han is being too modest. Our Sect has a second copy of the missing scroll. However, I hope you don’t forget what you’ve promised our Ancestor.” Sima Jingming said to Han Li as he cupped his hands in front of his chest.

“I naturally won’t go back on my promises.” Han Li said honestly.

“Alright. With your promise, I’ll rest assured from now on. It seems like Brother Han has something else to do, so I won’t disturb you any further.” Sima Jingming waved his cupped fists towards Han Li once more.

Han Li did not say anymore, as he flew out with a green glow surrounding him. In the blink of an eye, he vanished completely into the horizon.

Immortal World, Northern Cold Immortal Area.

A tall green mountain peak as tall as thousands of yards was covered with a mist made of thick spiritual gas. There was a sparkling and grand golden sanctuary built on its peak and welcomed the sun brightly and warmly.

At this moment, a bearded elder wearing a purplish-gold robe and a lotus flower crown was sitting on a purple wooden chair. He was holding onto a crystal clear jade tea cup. He slowly took a small sip from it before he looked up and glanced at the person in front of him.

The other person appeared to be in their twenties and was dressed in a black outfit. The person bowed respectfully at the elder before they said, “Immortal Elder Tongxu, I am Fang Pan. Junior came to disturb you today because I hope that you can help me find a person with your skills.”

“I am not interested in who you are. However, you should know clearly about the rules of this virtual pavilion, right?” The elder said calmly as he put down the tea cup onto the table next to him.

“A ten thousand year old virtual sea purple-sunflower, two high-quality golden dragon eye stones and a bottle of Poyang neutralizing water. Is Immortal Elder satisfied with this?” The young man immediately took half a step forward and said.

The moment he finished speaking, two exquisite purple boxes and a white jade bottle appeared in front of him while he opened the covers of the boxes and bottle as he revealed the objects inside.

The elder glanced at the items, his eyes sparkling a little before he nodded slightly. “There is some sincerity. Tell me, who are you looking for?”

“This person is a strong enemy I met before. I have long thought that I killed him three hundred years ago, but I found out recently that he might still be alive. However, I don’t know where he is, so my hope is for Immortal Elder to help me find him.” The young man furrowed his eyebrows as he said.

“Do you have anything like his blood, hair or nails?” the elder asked.

The young man hesitated for a moment before he took out a white porcelain bottle and passed it over as he said.

“This person’s blood is a little special. When I fought him back then, I found a way to extract this drop of blood. Immortal Elder, is this usable?”

The elder took the porcelain bottle and shook it a little. Feeling that the bottle was a little heavy, he opened the bottle and smelt it slightly before his expression changed instantly.

“Amazing! Magnificent! Who is this person exactly? His blood actually contains so much true spirit power!” Immortal Elder Tongxu exclaimed.

“This… To be frank, this person is a person from the lower realms and he managed to soar up. He had many weird and unique magic powers. He was not weak at all, and I only barely managed to defeat him because I was a little lucky.” The young man hesitated a little before he said.

“A person from the lower realms who soared up… Never mind, follow me.”

Immortal Elder Tongxu hummed for a moment before he stood up and walked towards the back of the sanctuary with a hand behind his back.

The young man then followed the elder and walked around an exquisite and pretty golden screen in the sanctuary, through the back of the sanctuary and arrived at a closed room.

The closed room was extremely spacious, with three thick rings of runes carved on the floor. It clearly belonged to an extremely complicated array formation. There was no furniture in the room, except for a big greenish-copper urn placed right in the middle of the room.

The big urn was about three feet tall, its exterior carved with all sorts of weird and unique runes that merged seamlessly with the floor like they were one and the same.

The young man followed Immortal Elder Tongxu and stood in front of the large urn. He looked down and saw a black liquid in the urn, reflecting their blurry expressions.

The elder opened the porcelain bottle he was holding before he tilted it down and poured the drop of blood out.

“Drip.”

A drip of pale-golden blood fell from the bottle and landed in the urn, creating a soft sound. It created waves in the black liquid that rippled slowly to the edge of the urn.

Following that, Fang Pan saw the liquid in the urn that was as black as ink clear up as the ripple passed over it. In the blink of an eye, the liquid in the urn became perfectly clear.

Through the clear liquid, he saw that the bottom of the urn had been curved with rings of round runes as well.

Seeing this, Immortal Elder Tongxu moved his lips as he instantly started to chant incoherently.

“Open.”

After some time, he heard a stern voice as the elder moved a hand towards the space between his brows and pressed it once before he tapped the large greenish-copper urn.

A soft rumble sounded.

When the elder tapped his fingers by the side of the greenish-copper urn, the urn started to tremble tremendously and the runes carved around the urn instantly shone with a greenish glow.

With that, the glow slowly moved down according to the runes and very quickly, the entire array formation on the floor glowed too.

Before Fang Pan could react, he was entirely surrounded by a green light.

In his daze, he realized that he was standing above a wide water source. He looked down and saw himself being targeted by a greenish mountain.

“This is… in the urn!” After a while, the young man muttered to himself blankly.
