After seeing Liu Le’er’s chest rising and falling gently and her breathing gradually turning stable, Han Li sat on the ground with his legs crossed.

He reached into his shirt and groped around for a while before taking out the ornament that had been hanging on his neck, a slender, round green bottle.

The small bottle was decorated with a dark green leaf blade pattern, it was very lifelike and looked exquisite.

Han Li gently rubbed the bottle with his fingers and he felt a familiar slight protruding texture, which made his mind wander.

After pondering for a long time, his expression darkened and he put the small bottle away. He then called out ‘Devil Light’ in a low voice.

There was only silence in the cave and there were no other movements, only Han Li’s voice echoing and buzzing.

But a moment later, the shadow in front of him twisted and shook and stretched a little.

There was a flapping sound!

A dark figure separated from Han Li’s extended shadow and slowly stood up.

The figure was dressed in a black robe, with dark skin and had a similar appearance as Han Li. His black hair was not tied up and there was a faint and indescribable air of decay emanating from his body.

“Daoist Han, it’s been a while,” the figure said as his gaze landed on Han Li.

“Devil Light, what happened? How did you become like this?” Han Li frowned and asked in a deep voice.

“I don’t know. I only woke up a few years earlier than you and I quickly realized that I was almost out of spiritual power. I was left with only a small fragment of my soul and because of the Heaven Devil contract, I can only hide in your shadow. I can’t show myself in front of others without your direct summoning unless someone is hurting you.” The tone of the dark skinned man remained unchanged and he replied mechanically.

“Can you remember what happened before you fell asleep?” Han Li was silent for a moment before asking.

“I remember everything before you ascended but after that, I only remember that you left the Flying Immortal Terrace with that Immortal called Gao Sheng and then I have no memories of anything after that,” the man replied slowly.

“So, both of our memories end at the moment I left the Flying Immortal Terrace. It seems like if we want to understand what happened, we have to find Gao Sheng. But, we are not in a good position. According to the information I received from soul searching, not only are you and I in the northern part of an Immortal city that belongs to a lower realm called the Spirit World, three hundred years have passed. You and I have lost three hundred years of memories,” Han Li said with his eyes shining.

“This is really bad! Do you have any plans?” the man named Devil Light asked.

“Although you have only a trace of a soul left, you were originally a devil. You should have some divine powers left right?” Han Li raised his eyebrows and asked.

“I don’t have much magic power now and I have most likely lost my spirituality and can only cast some low level secret skills,” Devil Light replied glumly.

When Han Li heard this, his eyebrows relaxed slightly and he nodded.

“Well, it’s much better than I expected. On the contrary, I am no better than you. I have just checked and found that not only did I lose all my magic artifacts and elixirs, my soul and body have been severely damaged and is not one tenth of what it was during my peak. Fortunately, I have awoken and as long as I find the right elixir, I should be able to recover soon. I can also feel the presence of Daoist Crab and the Gold Devouring Beetle King through the soul contract but I don’t know their exact location and can only try to look for them in the future.”

“It seems like you’re in great trouble. If you want to find Gao Sheng, you have to return to the North Night Immortal Realm. If I remember correctly, although it’s much easier for the Lower World that’s directly under the Immortal Realm to ascend compared to the other worlds, one also needs to have the Ascension Immortal Platform to receive him as well as great magic to protect the body, before one is able to break apart the boundary between worlds,” Devil Light said after a moment of silence.

“Returning to the Immortal Realm isn’t a pressing matter right now, there’s time to think about it slowly. But one thing I can be sure of is that no matter who caused me to fall into this situation, I will have a good chat with him when I get back.” Han Li stated calmly.

When Devil Light saw this, he said nothing else.

“Are you still willing to follow me? As you can see, I’m in a terrible situation right now and I won’t stop you if you want to leave.”

“Why do you have to test me? Although I’m but an incomplete soul, the Heaven Devil contract is still valid. Even if I wanted to, in this state, I can’t even disobey the power of the contract. In my present state, if I leave you now, I’m afraid it will be even more dangerous for me,” Devil Light replied mechanically.

“Okay, I won’t treat you badly since you say so. As long as I recover, I will try to mend your soul. Now, the first thing we need to do is to gather some information and resources from this world and see if we can restore our magic.” There was a smile on Han Li’s face when he heard this.

“It’s up to Daoist Han to make the decisions. I shouldn’t be out for too long now, so I’ll return and self-cultivate,” Devil Light said and his figure blurred, turning into a black fog. It surged into Han Li’s shadow on the ground and soon disappeared.

Han Li let out a long, deep breath. After looking at Liu Le’er, who was still sleeping, he slowly closed his eyes and began to regulate his breathing.

Liu Le’er, who had been in a deep sleep, woke up half a day later.

When she opened her eyes, she saw Han Li sitting cross-legged on the ground beside her with his eyes closed, and the elderly Daoist, who harbored evil intentions towards them, stood by the side with a careful expression.

Almost at the same time, Han Li opened his eyes and said with a smile, “You’re awake…”

Liu Le’er’s body suddenly froze. She stared at Han Li’s eyes, her expression complex and only mumbled after a while, “Brother Stone, y-you’re cured…”

“Le’er, my name is Han Li. You can call me Brother Han in the future,” Han Li said gently.

“B-Brother Han.” When Liu Le’er heard this, her expression changed and then looked down as she called out reluctantly.

In her eyes, the tall youth felt unfamiliar.

Han Li saw the changes in her expression and a trace of a smile appeared on his face.

“Don’t worry, although I’ve woken up, I still remember clearly all the things that have happened in the past few years. I’m still your Brother Stone and this will never change.”

When the girl heard this, she was overjoyed. Tears filled her eyes and she called out ‘Brother Stone’ before she rushed into Han Li’s arms.

“I know you have a lot of questions, but now is not the time to ask them. I’ll tell you more in the future,” said Han Li as he rubbed the girl’s head dotingly.

Liu Le’er nodded her head sensibly and did not ask any more questions but looked with a surprised expression at the nervous elderly Daoist standing beside them.
