A Man Living in the Countryside Would Fly Up to Heaven at Daytime - Chapter 37

Uncle Zhang was curious when he saw Su Yu lead the national research team into his house.

He was there when Su Yu talked to Professor Wang Lin and he heard them talking about South Chinese tigers.

Uncle Zhang followed everyone inside, trying to find out what attracted the attention of a research team from Beijing.

Su Yu led the group to his yard.

When they entered the yard, the researchers got anxious and started looking around.

“Su Yu, where is the South Chinese tiger?”

Su Yu pointed beside them. “Isn’t it there?”

The group turned around and noticed a giant tiger lying down beside them.

“T-t-this…How can you let it out like that?”

“A tiger should be locked inside a cage. Why didn’t you do so?!”

“Aaaaargh!”

The researchers were shocked, and two of the female interns even screamed out loud.

They had already been doing research on South Chinese tigers via papers and online. The closest they had ever gotten to a real tiger was through a cage.

It was their first time seeing a tiger walking freely in front of them. It was a scary experience. What if the tiger suddenly got mad and started attacking people?

South Chinese tigers were an aggressive breed. Once attacked by a tiger, a human could barely escape alive.

Some of the researchers were so shocked that their legs turned into jelly.

They noticed that the tiger was grinding its claws. The silver claws were scratching the concrete ground eerily. Every claw left deep marks on the concrete ground. It terrified the researchers, and everyone gulped nervously.

It was a scary scene for them despite being researchers. The South Chinese tiger looked really strong and dangerous.

If its claw struck a human body, the body would probably be split in half with a single blow.

Su Yu also noticed that Peggy was grinding its claws.

Peggy had awoken its Golden Jade Body and was happily testing out its newly gained strength.

Su Yu frowned. He walked over and punched Peggy on the head.

Before Peggy could react, it was sent flying 2 meters away by Su Yu’s punch. The punch had landed precisely on its head.

“Don’t you think that you can do whatever you want after awakening your Golden Jade Body! Why are you grinding your claws on my ground? Look at what you’ve done to the concrete! I guess someone is getting a beating today!”

The researchers were shocked when they saw the tiger being punched like a naughty brat. Apart from them, even Uncle Zhang was also shocked.

A tiger! A huge tiger! He had no idea Su Yu kept such an enormous tiger in the house.

What had Su Yu been doing lately? What gave him the nerve to punch a tiger? Since when did Su Yu become so strong?

“6666! Master Su is awesome! He really punched the tiger!”

“Is this for real? Are you not afraid of tigers? Bro!”

“Afraid? You have no idea how fearful their first meeting was. When Master Su first met the tiger, he punched the tiger and sent it flying 5 to 6 meters away.”

“Peggy must be crying a river inside. With so many people watching, Master Su just taught him a lesson in public.”

“He’s still the king of the jungle, but he’s like a pet in Master Su’s eyes. Awesome!”

“Master Su: You are not weak, I’m just too strong! I can even punch a tiger!”

The viewers spammed ‘6666’ in the comments when Su Yu punched Peggy.

The researchers were stunned. The astonishing act robbed them of their words.

Su Yu was really strong. He was able to punch a tiger and send it flying backward. How strong was his punch? He might be stronger than Mike Tyson!

Fortunately, Su Yu was able to control the tiger which calmed the researchers down.

Then, Professor Wang Lin said, “Su Yu, can we take some photos?”

“Sure, go ahead.”

After Su Yu nodded, the team of researchers started to take pictures.

Professor Wang Lin was impressed by the magnificent tiger as the photo shoot went on.

“As expected of the South Chinese tiger…The body, the fur, everything is magnificent! I’ve never seen such a huge one before and it even has golden fur! This is a rare one! Our discovery will surely shock the world!”

After a set of photos were taken, Professor Wang Lin was still not satisfied. He had been studying the South Chinese tiger for all his life, and being able to see a wild one in his own lifetime exceeded his expectations. The excitement simply could not be put into words.

Then, he said to Su Yu, “Su Yu, I have something to discuss with you.”

“What’s that?”

“It’s about the tiger’s whereabouts. This is how it’s going to be: in order to better protect the country’s precious asset and considering the tiger’s safety, we are going to take it back to the research facility in Beijing to take care of it and protect it. Are you okay with that?”

“Take the tiger back to Beijing?” Su Yu asked with furrowed brows.

The professor had said he wanted to just have a look at the gate, but now after a set of photos, he wanted to take the tiger away. He was pushing the line and he even called the tiger a national asset.

“What if I don’t agree?” Su Yu said.

Since he had taken Peggy and the cubs under his roof for a while now, he had developed an attachment towards them.

Now, some strange man came into his house and wanted to take the tigers away? What gives?

Professor Wang Lin said, “Su Yu, this isn’t about your opinion. This involves an endangered tiger species protected by the country. Did you know that there are less than 100 South Chinese tigers left in the world? These three tigers deserve a better environment to live and reproduce. This is considered contributing to the country because the tigers are national assets. They are not your private property. You have to understand that.

“Besides, you will be commemorated by allowing the tigers to follow us back. This is quite the honor,” Professor Wang Lin added.

“Is that so?”

In short, the researchers wanted to take the tigers away from Su Yu. The tigers had come to Su Yu on their own accord, seeking protection and shelter.

Su Yu had then taken the tigers in as a part of the family, and since they were a part of his family, he would not simply give them away.

Who knew what the researchers would do to the tigers once they were taken back to Beijing?

“Okay, how about this? You and I can’t really decide where the tiger wants to be, so let it decide on its own.”

After all, the researchers basically worked for the country, and Su Yu did not want to make things complicated. Therefore, he decided to let Peggy make the decision itself.

If the researchers had what it took to bring Peggy and the cubs back, they were free to take them.

Su Yu did not want to be a part of this. He pulled Uncle Zhang aside and left Peggy to the researchers who looked at each other in confusion.

Would it be dangerous now that the master had stepped away and the tiger was left uncaged?

Even Professor Wang Lin felt scared and his legs were shaking.

Peggy then turned around after having taken a punch from Su Yu. It looked at the researchers with its sharp eyes.

“Growl! What’s up, humans?”
