A Man Living in the Countryside Would Fly Up to Heaven at Daytime - Chapter 29

Su Yu went to Uncle Zhang’s place.

However, Uncle Zhang was not around. Only Aunt Zhang was doing chores in the backyard.

“Oh, Lil’ Yu, what’s the matter?” Aunt Zhang said when Su Yu came in.

“Aunt Zhang, I want to buy something in town. Can I borrow your rickshaw?”

“Sure. It’s parked outside. Help yourself.”

Su Yu nodded. “Thank you, Aunt Zhang. Oh, by the way, where’s Uncle Zhang?”

“He went into town this morning for his hospital visit. He’s still not home yet. Well, Lil’ Yu, if you are going into town, give your uncle a call. Maybe you can give him a ride home.”

“Okay, I’ll call Uncle Zhang after I reach town.”

Su Yu then went out. He borrowed the rickshaw and left for town.

Uncle Zhang had the autorickshaw for many years now. It would jerk fiercely at the start, and it was not a forward jerk but an up-and-down motion!

Even though it was a bumpy ride, at least, it still worked.

Su Yu drove the auto-rickshaw to town. Before he went into town, he gave Uncle Zhang a call.

Uncle Zhang was still doing his physical check-up at the hospital, so Su Yu went shopping for the refrigerator first.

Su Yu wandered around Electric Plaza that sold electronic appliances for quite some time. In the end, he chose a large refrigerator that cost 1,500 RMB.

The owner of the store said, “Hey, man, where do you stay? Give me the address, and I’ll tell my men to send them over later.”

“It’s fine. I need it urgently, so I’ll just carry it back myself. I drove a ‘car’ here actually.”

“Okay, shall I tell my men to carry it to your car?” asked the owner.

Su Yu shook his head. “That’s fine. I can carry it by myself.”

Then, under the owner’s astonished gaze, Su Yu carried the large refrigerator, which weighed around 60 kg, with both hands. He walked out with the refrigerator, leaving the owner and several of his workers stunned.

“Damn! He’s that strong? Is he even human?”

The 60 kg refrigerator was not ridiculously heavy, so anyone could easily pick it up. However, not everyone could carry it and walk around like it weighed nothing.

More importantly, Su Yu did not look strained when he carried the refrigerator. He seemed at ease as though carrying something that heavy was as easy as drinking or eating to him. It appeared like Su Yu was carrying apples instead of a large refrigerator.

He turned a lot of heads as he walked out of the store with the appliance. He took the escalator down to the third floor where the store was, and the moment he stepped onto the escalator, everyone else in front of him was terrified.

If his hands somewhat slipped or grew weak, the refrigerator would fall on someone, possibly even killing the person.

The people in front of Su Yu fled immediately, but there were some who were bold enough to take a video of him.

The video was then posted online.

“Shocking! Muscle Man appears in Electric Plaza!”

The moment the video was posted, it went viral.

“Holy hell! He’s strong!”

“The refrigerator looks heavy enough! I can’t even lift it alone! He’s THE man!”

“Is he a disciple from Shaolin Monastery?”

“The guy: look at you bumpkins! I’m just bringing my pet refrigerator for a walk. Why the shock?”

“This is a video of a man taming a wild refrigerator!”

“The guy looks familiar. I think I’ve seen him before on Lion Fang.”

“Really? Oh, wait, isn’t that Master Su!? I watched his stream this morning! He said he has something to do in the afternoon and this is what he’s up to? Bringing his pet refrigerator for a walk?”

“Hahaha! Master Su is walking his refrigerator in Electric Plaza!”

“Enlighten me, please. Who is Master Su?”

“Go watch his stream on Lion Fang or check out the compilation video on Bilibili. Master Su is a new and rising outdoor streamer. He once punched a South Chinese tiger barehanded!”

“He punched a tiger? Really? I want to see it!”

Su Yu had no idea that he went viral again for buying a refrigerator. He carried the refrigerator all the way to his auto-rickshaw and put it at the back.

Then, he went shopping for daily supplies. Su Yu wanted to buy a lot more things but realized there was no space on the rickshaw.

Since he had to make frequent trips to the town from now on, he was thinking about buying a car.

After all, his hometown was just a small, rural area, and public transport was not as convenient as those in Beijing. In Beijing, hailing a ride would only take a minute, but in his hometown, he might have to wait half an hour for the next bus.

If he was unlucky, he might not even see a bus for an hour. In the rural village, waiting for the bus had always been a myth of sorts.

He would have to make frequent trips to town in the future, and he could not just borrow Uncle Zhang’s auto-rickshaw every time. Besides, the auto-rickshaw had limited space, so buying a car might be the only choice.

Su Yu could not afford to buy a car because he was poor before, but now, after selling the ginseng, he had around 2 million in his account.

After the ginseng were delivered, he would receive another 10 million.

Therefore, he could afford more than just a car. There was no pressure at all.

With that in mind, Su Yu decided to pick Uncle Zhang up and drop by the automobile shop.

At Lishui County Hospital, Su Yu parked the rickshaw in front of the hospital.

Ten minutes later, Uncle Zhang came out from the hospital with a heavy expression. Su Yu waved at him, and he walked over after a bitter smile.

Su Yu noticed the bitter smile and realized that something might not be right.

“What’s wrong, Uncle Zhang? Why the long face? Oh, why are you here in the hospital? Are you feeling unwell?” Su Yu asked.

“It’s nothing, just some old wounds. I hurt myself when I was younger, and the doctor said it’s a lumbar herniated disc that causes my nerves to hurt.”

Uncle Zhang showed Su Yu the bill.

Su Yu also reacted sourly after seeing the bill.

Uncle Zhang might sound frivolous, but after seeing the bill and report, Su Yu realized that it was not a small matter.

As Uncle Zhang said, he used to do laborious work when he was younger, and he had neglected his back pain then.

The pain then accumulated into a lumbar herniated disc. According to the report, Uncle Zhang’s lumbar herniated disc had started to affect his nerves.

He himself could tell that his body was not acting right as he felt obvious numbness and pain in his lower body. If it got serious, it might even paralyze him from the waist down.

The doctor’s advice was to stay in bed for a while, and he would have to settle everything bedridden, including urinating and excreting.

Then, medication would be next.

Medicines like etoricoxib, loxonin, celecoxib, and medicines that could ease inflammation and boost blood circulation were the best choices.

It seemed like Uncle Zhang was having a hard time with his health.

Su Yu held the papers in his hand tightly and looked serious.
